The T400 thermostat displays the temperature at the end of the temperature probe, and is typically and probably different than the ambient air throughout the room. The numeric reading on the T400 thermostat should be thought of more as a scale. In that, if the thermostat is set at a specific numeric value, and you are still cold, then you should increase the setting up to “99”. If you are too warm in the room, then the setting should be decreased accordingly.
When the heater is turned on, it will run until the temperature probe reaches a measurement of 72 degrees. Once it is turned on, it first reads 72 degrees, and then after 3 seconds, it will display the temperature at the end of the temperature probe. (And while that reading is accurate, it is typically and probably different than the ambient air throughout the room.)
